Does UCDS allow a hardware part conversion of an IPC?
I have a USA - 2017 Lincoln MKZ cluster with hardware HP5T-10849-CE, but I would like to change it to be a Mondeo MK5 hardware DS7T-10849-BKR, or a DS7T-10849-BKP
Physically, I believe the internal boards are the exact same. I believe just the coded part number and firmware is different between them.
Is this something that can be done with UCDS. Can I obtain and force the firmware of the Mondeo onto this MKZ cluster?

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
Thank you... are these files the latest IDS version available for the DS7T-10849-BKR that you posted?kroligoff писал(а):May be try reflash in to CD391,

Curious... just in case does your database also show what a newer FS7T-10849-BKB... or BKA, would use for the latest version?
Would this also update the hardware part number in the unit so it is seen as the other model cluster.
Or would it still show up as a Lincoln MKZ cluster part number running the CD391 software?
Is there any way to back up the existing Part's/Cal with UCDS? As I think this newer MKZ cluster doesn't have files available to download yet. In case I need to restore the firmware to original.
Does UCDS allow writing mileage/odometer to this IPC?
I've noticed the .... BK* series for the CD391 Mondeo 5 is the same as what we use here in the USA for the CD391 Fusion.
BK Series is Gas Auto MPH with 2.0L Ecoboost Engine w/6F Automatic Transmission.
I just ordered my UCDS Adapter FULL with Anatoly, 3 days ago on the 7th... Just waiting for it to ship to me and will test this out.
Thanks for helping answer my questions.

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
I had a similar idea and bought a 2013 MKZ IPC DP5T-10849-CJ. The VBF loader successfully loads the EJ7T-14C025-AA File when using Fusion 2013 as car model, but the next step fails with the message "unable to erase flash". It does not depend on the calibration files (Lincoln MKZ or Ford Mondeo calibrations)....
Any idea's what happens?!

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
I tried flashing my Lincoln MKZ Cluster with both the 2016 and 2015 Mondeo Firmware and it gives me an error as well. I was able to program my mileage into the Lincoln cluster using Direct Configuration. (Which is funny because I got a Security error 33 when I tried to write mileage to a 2015 Fusion Cluster).
When I tried to go a forced firmware flash using VBF Loader it gave me that hardware part number error. However, when I use the update wizard it can read it just fine, just shows no updates available obviously.

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
Hi Dan,
you must select HS3 instead of CAN_HS to get in touch with the IPC. The programming will then start and the bootloader will load successfully. I stuck at the next step when the programming of the first calibration file fails with a "can't erase flash" error ....

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
Are you putting a Lincoln MKZ Cluster in a Fusion?
Where did you find a Mondeo Lens/Mask or how did you get it to fit?
Thanks! I didn't even notice that CAN Bus was a drop down and thought it was selected automatically by VBF File.

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
You have to change the MKZ mask to a Mondeo mask (my Mondeo is originally fitted with the high level IPC, so its just two screws to convert it)

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
I am aware of that... I didn't realize you had a Mondeo. I thought you had a USA based Fusion.
Why did you get a 2013 MKZ cluster if you already had a Mondeo with that cluster?

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
I was messing around with the 2017 MKZ cluster I have...
First, I was able to successfully able to reprogram the mileage to match my Fusion cluster.
I also messed with the software on it. I overwrote the 2017 Lincoln MKZ Software with 2016 Ford Mondeo Software.
I tried the 2015 Mondeo software also which worked too.
I like the look of the needles on the gauges better on the 2016 Mondeo vs 2015 Mondeo. Mondeo Gauges are blue while Lincoln Gauges are white.
These are all pictures of the same physical cluster... I just messed with different Calibrations of software on it.

Re: Change IPC Firmware MKZ to Mondeo 5
The MKZ cluster is an "investigation object" to learn more about the cluster software....
How did you manage the update via the wizard (i always saw "no update available") and are you sure that the firmware is updated? I would expect the blue Ford speedo and tacho needles?!
