Hello all,
If I use the Update Wizard and to a backup to a ".uuw" file before performing an update, I can look inside the file and see some direct configuration data, all for blocks in the DEnn range, like the following:
<c DID="DE00" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE00" Data="000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000"/>
<c DID="DE01" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE01" Data="0000000000000000"/>
<c DID="DE02" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE02" Data="C840"/>
<c DID="DE03" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE03" Data="F800"/>
<c DID="DE04" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE04" Data="DA00"/>
<c DID="DE05" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE05" Data="60"/>
<c DID="DE06" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE06" Data="D800"/>
<c DID="DE07" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE07" Data="B900"/>
<c DID="DE08" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE08" Data="03E8"/>
<c DID="DE09" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE09" Data="03E8"/>
<c DID="DE0A" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE0A" Data="110761"/>
<c DID="DE0B" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE0B" Data="FC"/>
<c DID="DE0C" Desc="Direct Configuraation DID DE0C" Data="00"/>
But if I use the Direct Configuration tool and do a backup I look in that file and I see information from TWO block ranges, DEnn and FDnn:
<VEHICLE VEHICLE_YEAR="MY15" VEHICLE_ID="CD391" VIN="NONE" MODULE="DDM">
<DID ID="DE00">000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000</DID>
<DID ID="DE01">0000000000000000</DID>
<DID ID="DE02">C840</DID>
<DID ID="DE03">B800</DID>
<DID ID="DE04">DA00</DID>
<DID ID="DE05">60</DID>
<DID ID="DE06">D800</DID>
<DID ID="DE07">B900</DID>
<DID ID="DE08">03E8</DID>
<DID ID="DE09">03E8</DID>
<DID ID="DE0A">110761</DID>
<DID ID="DE0B">FC</DID>
<DID ID="DE0C">00</DID>
<DID ID="FD03">3130303732303432</DID>
<DID ID="FD07">000295A3000164E7</DID>
<DID ID="FD0C">FFFFFC</DID>
</VEHICLE>
My questions are:
-> What is the extra information in the FDnn blocks in the Direct Configuration backup files and is it important?
-> If I want to restore the direct configuration data in the .UUW file is there a way to do that in UCDS, or do I have to manually edit the .uuw and produce an .XML file that I can import?
Thanks!

You can load in Direct Configuration section.

Re: Wizard Backup (.uuw) vs Direct Config Backup (.xml) File
Hi kroligoff - thanks, that's great (makes sense too).
-> Do you know what the information in the FDnn blocks is, e.g.:
<DID ID="FD03">3130303732303432</DID>
<DID ID="FD07">000295A3000164E7</DID>
<DID ID="FD0C">FFFFFC</DID>
... as this is not in the .uuw file?
-> Should I ALWAYS restore the direct configuration from the .uuw after running the UcdsUpdateWizard? Or is it only required sometimes?

Any modules on any fw may be reset configuratin after update.
Use Direct Config and Load from Etis use VIn or load file

Re: Wizard Backup (.uuw) vs Direct Config Backup (.xml) File
Hi kroligoff,kroligoff писал(а):You can load in Direct Configuration section.
I tested this this morning. I am using the latest UCDS (v2.7.3). I can not load a .uuw file in the direct configuration section (to restore direct config).
Did I misunderstand you?
I understand the rest: if I update a module I may lose configuration. I can restore that configuration using an as-built load using my Vin from ETIS. -or- I can restore that configuration using a backup from a file. But the only files I can load in the direct configuration section are the .xml files produced by the DirectConfiguration tool - unless I'm doing something wrong.

Currently load from Etis use VIN.
